(1)The material of the filter cloth should be selected according to the chemical and physical properties of the material. Each filter cloth supplier provides as much technical information as possible, and can refer to the selection.

(2)The permeability of the filter cloth is selected according to the requirements of the filtration accuracy. Although the filter cloth plays an important role in the initial filtration accuracy of the filter press, the initial filter accuracy is not as high as possible. It is necessary to consider the filter accuracy to meet the requirements. After the filter press is filtered for a period of time to form a filter layer, the retention effect of the filter cloth is very small, and the sufficient "filter layer" for the fine filtration effect, forming a good filter layer is the key to the use of the filter press.

(3)The peeling performance of the filter cake. Pay special attention to the peeling performance of the filter cake when selecting the filter cloth. The surface of the filter cloth is smooth and flat, the filter cake is peeled off quickly, the filtration operation time is short, and the efficiency is high. The filter cake sticks to the filter cloth and is not easy to be peeled off, which will prolong the operation time of the filter press and reduce the working efficiency. If you want to change the filter cloth, the time will be longer. Nowadays, the commonly used van filter presses are more troublesome to replace the filter cloth. The choice of monofilament filter cloth is better than that of long multifilament and short fiber filter cloth. The performance of satin weave is better than that of plain weave filter.

(4) Regeneration performance of the filter cloth. When selecting the filter cloth, pay attention to the filter cloth with good regeneration performance. The filter cloth with good regeneration performance can directly wash the filter cloth on the filter press to reduce the number of times of changing. The filter cloth that has been replaced is simply treated (dry, washed, etc.) and the filtration efficiency is restored to 80% or more.

(5) Filtration experiment of materials. The use of filter press technology is an experimental technique. It is very important to carry out the filtration test on the raw materials (without changing the properties of the materials and the process conditions) after the preliminary selection of the filter cloth. A sample experiment was carried out on the material filtration. The filtration rate, retention effect, filter cake moisture content, unloading cake performance, regeneration performance, etc. of the filter cloth were investigated.
